You can use interactive vocabulary books during morning meetings, story time, or as readers during reading instruction. They can even be used for students to read on their own by moving the visuals on their own to match the pages.

Many special education students love to read these interactive books because they are at their reading level but are not designed to be for younger readers. The adapted books are written at approximately a 2nd grade level so they are accessible for younger ages through secondary special education students who are working on lower reading levels.

Implementing these interactive books for special education in your classroom is EASY!

Students will participate in reading the book and then matching the pictures on the page to the correct place in the sentences, or finding the word that completes the sentence, or both!
