Description
These file folder games for special education and autism focus on color matching, picture matching, and word matching for a variety of functional vocabulary words. Activities include multiple options for easy differentiation: matching picture to picture (identical), picture to picture (non-identical) and picture to word, including both real-life photographs and illustrations.
These are great for students working on matching and learning real-life functional vocabulary such as those in special education, life skills, and early childhood settings. They are great for independent work systems, autism file folders, work baskets, morning work, generalization of concepts, and even direct instruction or discrete trials.
File folder games for special education are included for these functional vocabulary words:
🎨 Color matching: picture to word and picture to color matching activities
🦁 Animals: picture to word matching, photo to illustration, and matching identical pictures
🚌 Transportation words: picture to word matching, photo to illustration, and matching identical pictures
🧑🍳 Kitchen words: picture to word matching, photo to illustration, and matching identical pictures
✏️ Office & school supply words: picture to word matching, photo to illustration, and matching identical pictures
🚽 Bathroom words: picture to word matching, photo to illustration, and matching identical pictures
Each activity can be set up as its own file folder game or in a binder.
These file folder games for special education can also be used to begin teaching students how to sort by having different items on each folder or set them up with one type of item on each side (e.g., transportation and animals; kitchen and bathroom; kitchen and office picture match to words). There are labels for 17 file folders with 2 of the same category of pictures for each folder.
