Description
These 5 spring interactive books are already adapted for teaching seasonal vocabulary using pictures and/or words. These adapted books are perfect for morning meeting, circle time and story time, or reading instruction for older students in your special education classroom. The interactive features of finding and matching the pictures or words help to keep students engaged in reading.
You can easily differentiate these books by using either the word or picture adapted pieces for interaction.
Use the interactive pieces in a group to have each student add to the story when their picture or word is included.
Students could also use the visuals to answer comprehension questions about the story or use them as cues for re-telling the story.

5 interactive books with spring vocabulary with pictures and words that can be matched to the pictures and text on the pages. Each book has slightly different elements to meet the diverse learners in your classroom.
Spring Interactive Books
- Spring Cleaning – This illustrated book focuses on cleaning materials for spring cleaning the house. At the end of the book, students can choose the yes or no visual to answer “Do you help your family clean the house?
- Let’s Plant a Vegetable Garden – This illustrated story focuses on the vocabulary related to planting a vegetable garden.
- Animal Babies – This photographic adapted book focuses on the names of baby animals. The pictures in the book are of the baby animal and the pictures the student matches have a grown animal and baby to help differentiate animals that look similar as babies (e.g., sheep vs. goats).
- Signs of Spring – This illustrated interactive book focuses on the early signs of spring including snow melting, flowers blooming, leaves turning green. It also includes yes and no for answering a question at the end whether the student likes spring. Some pictures are identical and some are not.
- Things We Do in Spring – This illustrated book targets verbs and depicts common activities that people do in the spring.
